Sigma has pioneered a new system of cardio-metabolic screening which has been proven to detect cardiovascular disease more effectively than standard screening modalities. Over the last seven years, we have shown massive potential in reducing the catastrophic effects of cardiovascular disease among first responders. HeartStart, an online program, was developed to be more accessible to individuals. Participants will undergo advanced lipid and biomarker analysis, via a blood draw, which has been proven effective in detecting the early stages of cardiovascular disease.

HeartStart is an accessible, convenient and confidential cardiac screening program that allows first responders to proactively manage their heart health. The program consists of three components:
Done at your closest Quest Patients Service Center, our team of professional phlebotomists will conduct all biometric testing (height, weight, blood pressure) and blood draws in a HIPAA protected and confidential manner.
This 20-minute consultation will review medical diagnostics including lab data.
In-depth nutrition evaluation, personalized action plan, and access to heart-healthy recipes and tools to track diet and exercise.
HeartStart, while not the complete Sigma screening package, is a simple and extremely cost-effective way of taking control of cardiac risk. It allows individuals to develop a cardiac risk reduction strategy without the risk of insurance claim denial or other expenses related to co-pays or deductibles. All individual medical data collected through Sigma’s process is privacy-protected and is never shared with any other individual or organization.

Sigma began with the desire to create efficient avenues for members of public safety seeking a greater measure of health and performance from their daily lives. Today, we have served more than 15,000 emergency responders in the United States.
