Sigma has pioneered a new system of cardio-metabolic screening which has been proven to detect cardiovascular disease more effectively than standard screening modalities. Over the last seven years, we have shown massive potential in reducing the catastrophic effects of cardiovascular disease among first responders.

Sigma offers a comprehensive cardiac screening evaluation which includes vascular imaging, advanced lipid testing, and inflammatory biomarker analysis which has been proven effective in detecting the early stages of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, a cardiopulmonary exercise stress test is performed on a stationary bicycle to measure functional capacity and to identify any ischemia that may be present. The generated data is used to identify cardiac risk and allows our clinicians to develop individualized exercise and nutritional recommendations.
Sigma’s unique approach uses Advanced Metabolic Testing to assess the precise nutritional status of each individual and allows us to recommend key nutritional changes based on that person’s individual needs.

With Sigma’s approach, first responders are shown their current nutritional status and are taught which lifestyle modifications are most effective in decreasing BMI, fatigue, and cardiovascular risk. Additionally, a strong emphasis on weight optimization will be included within each consultation.

Direct consultation with a physician or licensed medical professional (physician assistant or nurse practitioner) will be provided. During this consultation, each individual will have all diagnostics reviewed and treatment strategies will be discussed. The participant will leave with a full understanding of his or her cardiac risk, metabolic status, and the steps that can be taken to help ensure a long and healthy career leading into retirement. Comprehensive results and recommendations will be provided for the participants to share with their healthcare providers.

Sigma began with the desire to create efficient avenues for members of public safety seeking a greater measure of health and performance from their daily lives. Today, we have served more than 15,000 emergency responders in the United States.
